My Top 8 Favorite Photography Locations in Oregon. Living and working in Portland Oregon surely has its benefits. The beauty and nature that surround me make me so happy. I love working with couples who want to explore, hike around, find secret spots, and discover places I never knew existed.
I wanted to share my top 8 favorite locations in Oregon, and maybe you will decide you want to have your photos taken here as well!:
Cannon Beach is one of the most requested locations outside of Portland for photography. My couples always request it because it is so widely known and the coastline is so beautiful. There are usually a lot of people taking pictures around here especially during the sunset when the light is absolutely stunning. Cannon beach is less than a two-hour drive by car. It is definitely breathtaking and one of my favorite locations in Oregon for photos.
Cathedral Park in Portland Oregon is such a stunning park! It is right under St John’s Bridge and next to the Willamette River. It is one of the top photography locations for couples. Couples love having their photos taken here because there is so much lush greenery and the St. John’s Bridge is truly magical. The park also hosts a series of events throughout the year. It’s always nice to catch a concert or watch a performance here.
I visit Downtown Portland a lot since everything is so close and I can find what I need here. There are many restaurants, shops and great places to visit for photos. My couples always love coming here to get the action shots!
Mt. Tabor was once a volcano that has now been extinct. The lush parkland of the once active volcano is now one of my favorite places to go hiking and exploring in the area. I love the views around here and seeing how beautiful Portland is! One of my cutest couples had a small wedding and eloped nestled in the trees of Mt. Tabor!
Powell Butte Nature Park is another favorite of mine. We love to bring our dog hiking around here. I love smelling the fresh air and the grassy fields. It was also once a volcanic area which has now been protected by the government for people to enjoy. There are views of Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Rainier, and Mt. Adams from the top of Powell Butte.
Trillium Lake on Mt Hood is one of my favorite lakes of all time. When the light hits it right, it’s absolutely magical. I’ve photographed many engagement photos and small weddings here. It’s totally worth exploring as much as you can. There is even a huge view of Mt. Hood in the backdrop. If you hike from the beginning of the parking lot, it is about 2 miles around the lake. My favorite part about Trillium Lake is that you don’t need to hike to get to the beautiful spots. You can drive right up and see Mt. Hood!
I love Trillium Lake on Mt. Hood so much, I had to mention it twice! Since this is such a popular location, people love to have their weddings here too. It is stunning for photography and people love the seclusion of this area. I have so many secret spots to share with you!
Last but not least, Washington Park. I love Washington Park because there are so many fun activities to do in this park! They have archery, a zoo, a museum, and a Japanese Garden. It is great for all types of photography and my favorite place is in the floral escape of this park!
